
Seven Nine Three
First unveiled during London Fashion Week where Fletcher showcased his new vision for the brand, blending British heritage and Chinese craftsmanship. The collection is now brought to life with British model, Alexa Chung, as the campaign’s face.
Consisting of an edit of 30 pieces, Fletcher’s vision for this capsule focusses on building a wardrobe which was informed by his conversations with Chung on set earlier this year.
“Alexa was the first person to try these clothes on, I’d only been working for the brand two months and these were the first samples so it was interesting for me to see how Alexa put them together and what she was drawn to. We talked about the staples you find in a British wardrobe, and how those items like a navy crew neck jumper, a striped cotton oxford shirt, a double breasted blazer; these are things so many of us have some form of variation on and are what build the foundation of most of our outfits every day. This was the starting point for me, to establish the foundation of what is in the Mithridate wardrobe then start building on it. This capsule is a reflection of that vision and for what I see for the future of the brand.”
Alexa can be seen wearing crisp cotton shirting and boxy tailoring as well as a double faced woollen hoodie and fluffy a mohair cable knit decorated with a new M rope motif.
Elsewhere in the capsule, Fletcher’s British heritage shines through in the form of rugby style shorts, striped jerseys and knitted polos emblazoned with appliqué sporting style numbers. Taking inspiration from both the sports pitches of the English Home Counties and the ancient Chinese art of Feng Shui, Fletcher chose significant numbers reflecting his hopes for Mithridate’s future.
Number 7, which reflects change, noting this new beginning for the brand. 9, which represents many things associated with accomplishments and completion and finally looking to the future with the number 3, representing upward growth and survival.
